Factors like time of day, other food being served, and activity level can affect actual consumption, so consider these when placing your final order.

Thin crust pizzas typically have more slices (usually 8 per large pizza) than thick crust pizzas (usually 6 per large pizza). Additionally, thick crust slices are more filling, so people may eat fewer slices. Our calculator accounts for both the number of slices and the increased satiety from thick crust.

It's often a good idea to round up to the nearest whole pizza, especially if your calculation results in a fraction. For example, if the calculator suggests 4.3 large pizzas, ordering 5 would be prudent. This accounts for variations in appetite and ensures you won't run out.

Our algorithm assumes adults will eat about 50% more pizza than children. For example, if an adult would eat 3 slices for a meal, a child would eat about 2 slices in the same situation. This ratio adjusts based on the hunger level you select.

If you're serving substantial side dishes (salads, pasta, etc.), you might want to reduce the hunger level by one step. For example, if it's a full meal with sides, you might select "snack" instead of "meal" in the calculator to account for people eating less pizza.
